Voices Airy - ReviewsA Powerful Love StoryKarp hits the literary nail on the head with her latest novel... A powerful love story and an excellent study in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The Historical Novels Review
Captivating and thought-provokingA captivating and thought-provoking story of the transitions between life and death. The Midwest Book Review
What good historical fiction ought to be aboutThere is plenty packed in here to enjoy and enthrall, but for me the best thing of all is the author's tangible evocation of 1918 San Diego: shell-shocked veterans, cheap picture palaces where films are a recent invention, the streets full of masked people trying not to get the flu, and doctors prescribing strange medicines... This mix of history and story in perfect balance is mesmerizing... and what good historical fiction ought to be about. Catherine Karp's first novel, Gilded, was one of my top ten picks for 2002; this is in the same caliber. Rachel A. Hyde, Myshelf.com
Captivating and SuspensefulVoices Airy steps softly into the realm of the supernatural, death, and "the beyond." Catherine Karp vividly illustrates the graceful yet repressed norms of society during the early 20th century with a ghostly historical drama that tugs at the heartstrings yet is captivating and suspenseful all the while... Karp is a gifted wordsmith. Christine Filipak, Dark Realms
